Our client, a leading pharmaceutical organization, is seeking an Associate Scientist to join their cell culture process sciences team. The role focuses on early-stage process development and late-stage optimization for upstream processes to produce protein therapeutics.
Responsibilities
- Execute upstream process development experiments focusing on process optimization, characterization, and troubleshooting.
- Perform laboratory experimentation on cell culture and media formulations using bioreactors ranging from mini-scale (15mL) to small-scale (10L).
- Apply Quality by Design (QbD) principles and Design of Experiment (DoE) methodologies to design and plan experimental workflows.
- Collaborate with analytical teams to evaluate cellular responses, process scalability, and effects on product quality.
- Support the technology and process transfer to clinical and commercial manufacturing environments.
- Generate technical documentation and experimental reports in English to support regulatory filings and technology transfers.
Requirements
- Master degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
- You have 1+ years of experience in mammalian-cell-based therapeutic protein expression and culture systems.
- You bring technical knowledge in bioengineering, chemical engineering, statistics, and cellular metabolism.
- You possess the ability to organize and communicate large amounts of scientific data effectively.
- You're flexible, proactive, and able to work effectively in a team environment under tight deadlines.
- You are fluent in English.
