Data Governance Expert – Transport Operations

Our client, a major player in the transport and logistics sector, is seeking a Data Governance Expert to join their Data & Planning department. The role involves establishing and maintaining robust data management frameworks to support large-scale operations and strategic planning within a complex organizational environment.

• Develop and implement data governance frameworks, including the definition of data roles and governing bodies.
• Monitor and improve data quality standards across the organization.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal regulatory requirements.
• Establish and maintain data lineage documentation to ensure transparency of data flows.
• Manage the business glossary and metadata repository to align technical and business definitions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed data-driven mindsets within the project.

• 8+ years of experience in data governance within large-scale corporate environments.
• Proven expertise in managing Data Roles & Governing bodies, Data Quality, and Data Protection & Regulatory Compliance.
• Extensive experience with Data Lineage, Business Glossary management, and Metadata systems.
• You possess a Master’s degree or equivalent through relevant professional experience.
• You bring a strong data-driven mindset and analytical approach to problem-solving.
• You are fluent in Dutch or French (C-level) with at least B2 level in the other language and B2 level in English.

Nice to Haves

• Willingness to obtain additional certifications in data management or privacy.
