Our client, a prominent federal organization dedicated to social welfare, is looking for a developer to modernize critical legacy applications within a large-scale transformation program. This role involves translating complex business requirements into high-quality software solutions to enhance digital services for citizens.
Responsibilities
- Translate architectural requirements into technical designs and functional software solutions.
- Design, build, test, and maintain robust full-stack applications within an Agile environment.
- Implement automated testing to ensure the reliability and performance of software releases.
- Collaborate with product owners and business experts to translate the backlog into concrete sprint planning.
- Deliver working functionalities every two-week sprint following an end-to-end development approach.
- Maintain technical documentation and code quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software development with GIT, JPA, Postgres, and REST.
- 5+ years of backend development using Java, Spring Boot, Maven, and ActiveMQ.
- 5+ years of experience with Docker, Openshift, Jenkins, and Swagger.
- 2+ years of frontend development using Angular.
- 2+ years of experience with BPMN, CMMN, OAuth2, and OpenAPI.
- You possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- You're able to work independently while integrating smoothly into a large multi-disciplinary team.
- You are fluent in Dutch and English with passive knowledge of French.
Nice to Haves
- Knowledge of Domain Driven Design (DDD), Clean Code, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Experience with Scriptura, Documentum D2, and JEST.
- Experience working within social security systems or complex public sector projects.
- Knowledge of GitHub Copilot.
Offer
- Start date: ASAP
- Duration: 160 working days (until end of 2026)

- Location: Brussels
- Working model: Hybrid (minimum 2 days onsite, specifically Tuesdays and Thursdays)
- Contract: open to both permanent employees and freelancers
