Our client, a leading organization in the European energy infrastructure sector, is seeking an IP NOC Engineer to ensure the reliability of critical network systems. The role focuses on supervising, configuring, and troubleshooting complex IP networks across data centers and administrative sites to support essential utility operations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor IP network performance and verify alarms across routing, switching, load balancing, and firewall technologies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal departments regarding network changes, service requests, and incident reports.
  • Execute hardware installations, staging, and configurations within data centers and administrative offices.
  • Perform first-level troubleshooting and event correlation, collaborating with senior architects for complex issue resolution.
  • Manage incident dispatching and maintain communication with external vendors and service providers.
  • Update technical documentation, network inventories, and Visio diagrams to ensure accurate information management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as an IP NOC Officer or in a similar network operations role.
  • Expertise in IP Networks management within multi-site environments, specifically with Cisco switches and routers.
  • Proven experience with firewalling technologies such as Checkpoint or Palo Alto.
  • Technical knowledge of IPAM, DHCP, and DNS using InfoBlox or similar appliances.
  • Familiarity with VPN concentrators and authentication engines like Cisco ISE.
  • Knowledge of load balancing solutions such as F5.
  • You possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, ICT, Telecommunications, or equivalent technical experience.
  • You are proactive, customer-oriented, and able to manage stress in urgent operational situations.
  • You are fluent in English with fluent knowledge of Dutch or French.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with Juniper networking equipment.
  • Familiarity with MPLS, DWDM, or SDH transport technologies.
  • Willingness to continuously refine and broaden technical knowledge of IP networks.
