Solution & Data Architect – Data Mesh & SAP Datasphere

Our client, a leading organization in the energy sector, is looking for a Solution and Data Architect to play a key role in the evolution of their digital and data landscape. The project involves designing strategic platforms based on Data Mesh principles to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and business objectives.

• Steer architecture activities within strategic platform initiatives from business requirements to technology implementation.
• Provide architectural guidance to product management and delivery teams to define scalable, future-proof solutions.
• Design solution architectures that integrate application, integration, and data capabilities according to enterprise standards.
• Support data product teams in defining information domains and contributing to transversal and canonical data models.
• Drive Proofs of Concept to validate architecture decisions and evaluate emerging technology choices.
• Facilitate discussions between business and technology stakeholders to validate and communicate complex architectural decisions.

• 5+ years of experience in a Solution or Data Architect role.
• 5+ years of experience with data integration architectures across cloud and on-premise environments.
• 5+ years of experience with data modeling, including conceptual, logical, and canonical data models.
• Extensive knowledge of Enterprise Integration Patterns, API-based integrations, and event-driven systems.
• Solid understanding of messaging solutions and event-driven architectures.
• Practical experience with IT architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, or ATAM.
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and microservices architectures.
• Technical expertise in SAP, S/4Hana, and SAP Datasphere.
• You possess an agile mindset and are a proactive, results-driven team player.
• You are fluent in English with a good level of Dutch and/or French.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Collibra data catalog solutions.
• Familiarity with architecture modeling tools like Sparx Enterprise Architect.
• Knowledge of Master Data Management, Big Data, Data Lakes, or Data Mesh architectures.
• Experience with metadata management and data governance platforms.

• Start date: 01-09-2026.
• Duration: 16 months.
• Work regime: Full-time.
• Location: Brussels.
• Working model: Hybrid (2 days onsite per week).
• Contract: open to both permanent employees and freelancers.
