Senior Network Security Engineer – Infrastructure Automation & ZTNA

A leading organization is looking for a Senior Network Security Engineer to secure and optimize network infrastructure within a complex IT environment. This role focuses on designing security solutions, driving automation, and providing technical leadership to internal teams.

• Design and implement robust network security solutions to protect critical infrastructure.
• Develop automation playbooks to streamline security operations and network management.
• Configure and maintain security components including firewalls, VPNs, proxies, and load balancers.
• Monitor network performance and manage security incident responses effectively.
• Conduct comprehensive audits and vulnerability analyses to ensure compliance with security standards.
• Provide technical coaching and guidance to internal engineering teams to foster knowledge sharing.
• Maintain detailed documentation and processes in alignment with NIS2 and other security frameworks.

• 8+ years of experience in network engineering with routing, switching, DNS, WiFi, ISP, and TACACS.
• 8+ years specializing in network security managing firewalls, VPNs, proxies, and load balancers.
• 5+ years implementing Cloud security and Zero Trust (ZTNA) architectures.
• 5+ years performing security monitoring and incident response.
• 3+ years driving automation through scripting and playbook development.
• You have a deep understanding of various operating systems and security standards.
• You're experienced in providing technical coaching and collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams.
• You possess strong analytical skills and a structured, result-oriented approach to complex problem-solving.
• You are fluent in Dutch or French with a good command of English and the other national language.

Nice to Haves

• Possession of Security+ certification.
• Knowledge of NIS2 compliance requirements.
