Data Compliance Expert – GRC & Data Governance

Our client, a prominent organization in the transportation sector, is looking for a professional to lead the redesign of their data privacy and compliance framework. This role involves implementing specialized compliance tools and supporting strategic selection processes while collaborating across security, risk, and legal departments.

• Lead the review and redesign of data privacy and compliance processes for implementation in specialized tools.
• Support the selection process for data governance solutions through expert technical and regulatory input.
• Strengthen data compliance management activities in collaboration with security, risk, and privacy teams.
• Execute analytical activities including risk assessments, regulatory analysis, and reporting.
• Translate complex regulatory and technical topics for diverse non-technical stakeholders.
• Drive organizational awareness and change initiatives related to data protection and protection frameworks.
• Coordinate between business, IT, legal, and risk teams to integrate compliance requirements.

• You have 5+ years of experience managing GDPR-related projects within large-scale organizations.
• You possess expertise in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), Data Governance, and Data Security.
• You bring proven experience with Privacy-by-design and Data Retention frameworks.
• You possess deep knowledge of GDPR and at least one of NIS2 or the EU AI Act.
• You have a Master’s degree or equivalent in Data Compliance or GRC.
• You bring a DPO certification from a recognized body such as IAPP or ISACA.
• You have experience performing analytical regulatory risk assessments and reporting.
• You're able to act as an integrator between business, IT, and legal departments with strong interpersonal skills.
• You are fluent in Dutch or French at C level, with B2 level in the other language and at least B2 level in English.

Nice to Haves

• Previous experience as a Project Manager in compliance or data governance environments.
• Practical experience in the configuration and deployment of data compliance tools.
• Possession of ISO 27k or ISO 42k certifications.

• Start date: 27/07/2026.
• Duration: project length until 30/06/2028.
• Work regime: Full-time.
• Location: Brussels.
• Working model: Hybrid (minimum 2 days onsite per week).
• Contract: open to both permanent employees and freelancers.
