Data Engineer – Python & Power BI

Our client, a leading organization in the energy sector, is seeking a data-driven professional to support the enhancement of data transparency and visualization for security of supply studies. This role involves developing clear, insightful visuals and robust data pipelines to translate complex simulation results into actionable insights for the energy transition.

• Improve data management processes by establishing structured data warehouses and efficient data pipelines.
• Analyze large datasets originating from energy system simulations to identify key trends and inconsistencies.
• Create interactive dashboards and visuals to communicate complex simulation outputs to management and stakeholders.
• Develop and update scripts for data gathering, processing, and tool integration.
• Perform benchmarking of visualization platforms against international sector standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to iterate on visuals and ensure they fulfill strategic communication needs.
• Design user-friendly interfaces to allow for dynamic exploration of public-facing data.

• 3+ years of experience with Python for data processing and development within existing toolchains.
• 3+ years of experience with Power BI for creating complex data visualizations and dashboards.
• You possess experience with data warehouse architecture and data pipeline management.
• You have knowledge of energy systems and the principles of market simulation.
• You're an analytical and innovative thinker with a strong interest in the energy transition.
• Proactive and able to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
• You are fluent in English with a good level of Dutch or French.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with React.js for specialized data visualizations.
• Knowledge of ANTARES or other economic dispatch tools and solvers.
• Experience with market simulations and data mining techniques.
