Network Specialist – Infrastructure & Security

Our client, a prominent public sector organization, is looking for an experienced specialist to manage their professional IT environment serving over 1,600 users. The role focuses on technical implementation and migration trajectories, specifically integrating educational institutions into the existing network landscape. The objective is to ensure optimal performance, security, and continuity through high-quality technical expertise and meticulous documentation.

• Manage and configure complex network infrastructure with a focus on high-performance connectivity.
• Implement and maintain network security protocols and access controls to safeguard the environment.
• Guide and document technical migration trajectories to ensure smooth transitions and knowledge retention.
• Handle advanced networking tasks such as VLAN-stretching and network segmentation for external integrations.
• Optimize and standardize network systems to improve overall performance and reliability.
• Collaborate on the technical design and execution of LAN and WAN solutions.

• 5+ years of experience as a network specialist in professional IT environments.
• 3+ years of experience with Extreme Networks and Fabric technology.
• You possess hands-on experience with Network Access Control (NAC).
• You bring experience in system administration and configuration of Routing & Switching technologies.
• You have worked with network infrastructure tools such as Cisco or Fortigate.
• You're experienced in managing LAN and WAN protocols.
• You possess strong skills in documenting technical processes to facilitate knowledge transfer.
• You're flexible to occasionally perform evening or weekend work for specific project changes.
• You are fluent in Dutch with a C2 level of proficiency.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Palo Alto security solutions.
• Knowledge of SD-WAN architectures.
