Expert Data Governance & Compliance – Data Analytics Platform

Our client, a leading organization in the transport sector, is looking for a specialist to establish and evolve their data governance and compliance frameworks. This role focuses on strengthening data management activities, supporting tool selection processes, and fostering data literacy across the organization.

• Design and continuously improve the data governance framework, including the target operating model, data roles, and business glossary.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to align governance processes with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Act as a change agent to provide training and coaching for embedding new data roles such as Data Owners and Data Stewards.
• Develop and monitor governance processes to analyze non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee the documentation of business terms, data classification, and the definition of data quality rules.
• Track governance indicators and report on metadata, classification, retention, and data lineage.

• You possess a master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• You have 8+ years of experience in data governance within large-scale environments, covering Data Roles, Governing bodies, Data Quality, Business Glossary, and Metadata Management.
• You bring 8+ years of experience in Data Protection and Regulatory Compliance, including GDPR, data retention, and access control.
• You have hands-on experience with Data Lineage and implementing privacy-by-design controls.
• You possess strong coordination and facilitating skills with a background in project or program management.
• You're analytical and able to simplify complex regulatory topics for non-technical audiences.
• You are fluent in Dutch or French at C1 level, with B2 level in both the other language and English.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with industry-leading data management and data governance tools.
• Possession of DMBOK, CIGO, AAIM, CIPP/E, or CIPM certifications.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
