Lead Backstage Developer – React/Node

Our client, a key player in the energy sector, is seeking a developer to lead the evolution of their internal developer portal. This role involves designing and extending a specialized platform to enhance developer productivity and streamline infrastructure integration across the organization.

• Develop technical concepts for the extension and adaptation of the existing developer platform.
• Design scalable and high-performance solutions in compliance with IT architecture and security standards.
• Analyze existing interfaces and plugin structures to elicit domain-specific technical requirements.
• Build, test, and document custom frontend and backend plugins to support internal workflows.
• Integrate the platform with internal tools, CI/CD pipelines, and identity management systems.
• Provide technical advisory services regarding integration patterns, security architectures, and operating models.

• You have 4+ years of experience in backend development using Node.js for platform or integration solutions.
• You possess 3+ years of experience in frontend development using React.
• You bring 2+ years of experience in the design, customization, and maintenance of Backstage.
• You have 1+ year of experience in the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• You bring demonstrated experience in developing custom Backstage plugins for both frontend and backend components.
• You possess proven experience with Docker and Kubernetes for the operation and deployment of platform services.
• You have experience with Azure or comparable cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.

Nice to Haves

• Knowledge of API design and interface flow documentation.
• Familiarity with identity management and asset system integrations.
• Interest in contributing to sustainable energy infrastructure projects.
