Progress OpenEdge Developer – Insurance & Financial Systems

Our client, a prominent player in the financial and insurance sector, is seeking a developer to join their application team. The role focuses on full-stack development and maintenance of back-office applications for insurance management within an Agile environment.

• Execute full-stack development tasks to maintain and enhance back-office applications.
• Translate functional requirements into robust technical designs and developments.
• Collaborate closely with system experts and architects on complex design and development tasks.
• Implement Test Driven Development practices to ensure high-quality and timely delivery.
• Identify and propose proactive improvements to team workflows and system optimizations.
• Manage and reduce technical debt through consistent code refinement and modernization.
• Contribute to diverse projects ranging from process optimization to platform integration.

• 3+ years full-stack development experience with Progress OpenEdge.
• Experience with Progress Developer Studio, Progress Application Server (PASOE), and Object Oriented programming.
• Proficiency in REST and SOAP services (WCF) and Soap UI.
• Experience with version control and DevOps tools such as Git, TFS, and Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of C++, SQL, and HTML.
• Practical experience with Agile methodologies and Test Driven Development.
• Proactive and solution-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills.
• You are fluent in Dutch with very good knowledge of English.

Nice to Haves

• Affinity with life insurance or the financial services sector.
• Knowledge of SharePoint and Confluence.
