Functional Analyst – IoT & Digital Twin Solutions

Our client, a major utility provider in the Flemish region, is seeking an expert to lead the modernization of water management infrastructure. This role focuses on developing a digital twin of sewerage networks and implementing IoT solutions to support climate adaptation and data-driven operational goals.

• Translate business needs into technical requirements for applications and reporting systems.
• Define short-term and long-term actions to realize the desired future-state architecture.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across investment, operations, asset management, and IT departments.
• Facilitate working groups to drive change management and accelerate the adoption of digital solutions.
• Develop comprehensive reporting requirements and inventory data needs for implementation.
• Anticipate project risks and ensure timely escalation to project leadership.

• 3+ years of experience as a Functional Analyst within ICT projects focusing on IoT, digitalization, and application development.
• 3+ years of experience in Agile environments and project methodologies.
• You have proven experience building or managing Digital Twins and understanding the end-to-end IoT chain from sensors to data processing.
• You bring expertise in drafting Use Cases, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria.
• You possess strong Stakeholder Management skills within a business-to-IT context.
• You're experienced in the Utility sector and understand its current digital transformation challenges.
• You have professional proficiency with Jira and Confluence.
• You bring a strong command of Office 365 productivity tools.
• You're highly analytical, proactive, and capable of working autonomously.
• You are fluent in Dutch at a C2 level.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Data Modeling and Data Mapping including entities, attributes, and relationships.
• Previous experience working within large-scale organizations of over 2,500 employees.
