DevOps Engineer – AWS & Python

Our client, a leading organization in the public sector, is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their platform engineering team. This role focuses on developing and managing a central cloud hosting platform based on a hub-and-spoke architecture to support critical digital services.

• Develop and maintain a central AWS platform utilizing a hub-and-spoke architecture.
• Optimize and expand Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to support platform scaling and reliability.
• Automate and operationalize application deployments within secure landing zones.
• Implement and manage network components including DNS solutions, firewalls, and logging.
• Guarantee system reliability through automated monitoring, system failure planning, and disaster recovery.
• Manage and configure cloud service flows and infrastructure integrations.

• You have 3+ years of experience in automating CI/CD processes using GitHub or Azure DevOps Pipelines.
• You possess 3+ years of practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• You bring 3+ years of experience in software development with Python.
• You have 3+ years of experience with AWS cloud infrastructure or equivalent technologies.
• You bring proven experience in designing and maintaining central hosting platforms within a hub-and-spoke architecture.
• You possess a technical Master’s or Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional experience.
• You are fluent in Dutch with a C2 level of proficiency.

Nice to Haves

• Experience working within a public sector context.
• Proficiency in container orchestration using ECS Fargate, Kubernetes, or Docker.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MSSQL, or MongoDB administration.
• Background in Agile and DevOps methodologies.

• Start date: August 3, 2026.
• Duration: Until July 15, 2027.
• Work regime: Full-time.
• Location: Gent and Brussels.
• Working model: Hybrid (remote work possible).
