Data Engineer – Azure & Analytics Platform

Our client, a leading organization in the service sector, is looking for a Data Engineer to join their dedicated data and analytics team. The role focuses on developing innovative solutions through analysis, development, and testing to meet complex reporting requirements. This position requires a balance between a future-proof vision and the practical complexities of data modeling.

• Design robust data models including dimensions and facts for various business segments.
• Integrate diverse source systems to create comprehensive BI solutions.
• Maintain and optimize ETL processes using a combination of Databricks and Microsoft Power BI.
• Develop high-value reports and dashboards in close collaboration with business analysts and controllers.
• Support and mentor colleagues in the development of self-service Power BI reports.
• Identify and implement continuous improvements in system performance, security, and functional quality.

• You have strong experience with Azure services, specifically Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines, and Data Lake Storage Gen2.
• You bring proficiency in Databricks, PySpark, and Delta Lake for core transformations.
• You possess extensive knowledge of Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and semantic layer design.
• You have experience with SQL and dbt for modern data stack transformation logic.
• You're familiar with Azure DevOps, Git, and Terraform for version control and infrastructure as code.
• You possess knowledge of Azure Spring Apps and containerization technologies.
• You bring an understanding of Azure Active Directory and Entra ID within a security-focused environment.
• You are a proactive, analytical team player with a solution-oriented mindset.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English.

Nice to Haves

• Knowledge of Unity Catalog for data governance.
• Awareness of the latest technological developments within the Microsoft BI ecosystem.
