Software Test Engineer – Energy Market Solutions

Our client, a key organization in the energy sector, is seeking a professional to join an existing testing team to support the delivery of high-quality products. The role focuses on executing system acceptance tests for critical business applications while ensuring rigorous quality control and defect management.

• Execute sanity and regression tests to ensure product stability across core business systems.
• Design and perform test cases for new projects and functional changes based on analysis requirements.
• Log and track defects using MF ALM QC while following strict quality control procedures.
• Retest bug fixes and document results thoroughly within the test management environment.
• Analyze system and process behaviors for ad hoc requests from problem and change analysts.
• Participate in daily stand-ups and alignment meetings with vendors and market stakeholders.
• Organize knowledge-sharing sessions for team members and functional analysts regarding system changes and test methodologies.

• 5+ years of experience as a functional software tester within complex application landscapes.
• 4+ years of experience in data validation and messaging testing using SQL, XML, and SOAP UI.
• 3+ years of experience as a test specialist including writing test scenarios and applying formal test techniques.
• Proven experience with defect management and reporting using MF ALM QC.
• Professional experience working within Waterfall methodologies and performing test coordination activities.
• Knowledge of prepayment processes within the energy market sector.
• Possession of an ISTQB Foundation certification or higher.
• You bring a proactive and critical mindset with a focus on collaborative knowledge sharing.
• You are fluent in English at a C1 level with C1 level proficiency in either Dutch or French and at least B1 level in the other.

Nice to Haves

• 4+ years of experience with VB script.
• 2+ years of experience in test automation methods.
• Usage of TopDesk for incident and service management.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum project environments.
