Data Technical Lead – Azure & Databricks

Our client, a leading organization in the insurance sector, is looking for a technical lead to manage architectural alignment and technical quality within their data engineering environment. The role acts as the primary interface between engineering teams and platform architects while contributing to the development and maintenance of critical data components.

• Serve as the technical authority for data engineers and ensure adherence to architectural standards.
• Perform pull request validations and peer reviews to maintain high-quality data engineering practices.
• Translate architectural guidelines into actionable technical instructions for implementation teams.
• Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines within the cloud ecosystem.
• Collaborate with data modelers to ensure the implementation of robust and scalable data structures.
• Provide coaching and guidance to junior engineers to foster technical growth.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the data platform and engineering maturity.

• You possess extensive experience with the Azure ecosystem, specifically Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Mapping Data Flow (MDF).
• You have strong proficiency in Databricks and PySpark.
• You bring advanced knowledge of SQL for data transformation and analysis.
• You're experienced in dimensional modelling, star schemas, and Data Warehouse concepts.
• You possess natural leadership abilities with the capacity to guide and support multiple teams.
• You have strong communication skills, an analytical mindset, and a structured approach to problem-solving.
• You're capable of making technical decisions independently while working autonomously.
• You are fluent in English and French with good knowledge of Dutch.

• Experience with Power BI and semantic data modelling.
