Senior HSE Lead - Construction (preventieadviseur niveau 1)

Our client, a leading player in the pharmaceutical industry, is seeking a senior professional to manage health and safety for a major laboratory construction project. This role focuses on driving health, safety, and environmental standards from design through to commissioning within a complex industrial environment.

• Define and deploy the project's HSE strategy while ensuring adherence to safety standards.
• Oversee safety-by-design principles throughout the execution and commissioning phases.
• Act as the primary point of contact for HSE matters, coordinating with contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Supervise on-site construction activities and equipment commissioning to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Review risk assessments, RAMS, and HSE documentation to maintain high safety benchmarks.
• Conduct safety audits, site walks, and meetings to track performance and corrective actions.
• Enforce HSE directives and challenge project teams to ensure a safe working environment.

• You have a Master or Bachelor degree in Engineering (Construction, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering).
• You bring 8+ years of professional experience, with a focus on HSE leadership for large CAPEX or construction projects.
• You possess a Prevention Advisor Level 1 (preventieadviseur niveau 1) certification.
• You have experience with safety-by-design and commissioning processes in industrial or pharmaceutical settings.
• You bring the leadership skills required to actively challenge teams and enforce compliance on-site.
• You are fluent in English.
