Senior Technical Lead – Java & Spring Boot

Our client, a prominent organization in the public sector, is seeking a Technical Lead to ensure the technical quality and consistency of a central data-integration platform. This role involves translating architectural guidelines into concrete implementation standards and leading the technical evolution of secure data-sharing services.

• Translate architectural vision into concrete implementation standards and patterns for the development team.
• Lead technical decision-making for integration services, including synchronous APIs and asynchronous data flows.
• Define and enforce code review standards to ensure high quality, security, and maintainability across the codebase.
• Provide technical risk and feasibility assessments during the planning and sizing of requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Manage technical debt and identify modernization opportunities to enhance delivery performance and system reliability.
• Support the team hands-on through coding, testing, and debugging complex technical issues while coaching other developers.

• You possess 8+ years of experience in software development and leading technical aspects of large-scale projects.
• You have 5+ years of experience in backend development using Java and Spring Boot.
• You bring 5+ years of experience in data and integration using REST and SOAP API design and implementation.
• You have 5+ years of experience with asynchronous data-exchange patterns including FTP and batch processing.
• You possess 5+ years of experience in technical design, technical debt analysis, and coaching technical designers.
• You bring 3+ years of experience with event-driven architecture using Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• You have 3+ years of experience in security and identity for integrations involving OAuth, TLS, and certificates.
• You’re proficient in Agile methodologies and capable of leading development cycles.
• You are proactive, decisive, and possess strong communication skills to bridge technical and business requirements.
• You are fluent in Dutch at a C2 level.
