Datacom Project Engineer – Energy Infrastructure & Telecommunications

Our client, a leading organization in the energy sector, is looking for a specialist to support the deployment and maintenance of critical communication networks. This role focuses on coordinating technical infrastructure projects and ensuring network stability during large-scale grid overhauls.

• Organize and coordinate technical tasks between internal field operations, project leaders, and external telecom contractors.
• Translate high-level architectural designs into low-level technical documentation and construction plans.
• Conduct impact analyses on existing substation designs to ensure communication stability during network migrations.
• Document project-related data in central databases including node compositions and asset information.
• Manage the creation of Bill of Materials and verify stock availability to ensure project continuity.
• Provide regular project reporting and maintain alignment with cross-departmental stakeholders.

• You have a master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience in Telecommunications.
• You possess strong project management and reporting skills within a technical infrastructure environment.
• You bring advanced analytical skills and the ability to assimilate complex technical information quickly.
• You’re able to work methodically and independently while collaborating extensively with multidisciplinary teams.
• You possess strong written and oral communication skills for stakeholder management.
• You are fluent in Dutch, French, and English.

Nice to Haves

• Practical and operational knowledge of WAN and LAN technologies such as SDH, PDH, Routing, and Switching.
• Experience with cabling technologies including Fiber and Copper.
• Experience in Change Management.
• Willingness to continuously refine and broaden technical knowledge of network architectures.
