Senior System Engineer – Datacom & Security

Our client, a prominent regional government organization, is seeking a specialist to join their infrastructure department. This role focuses on the technical management and evolution of a hybrid ICT infrastructure, encompassing data centers, data communication, and security.

• Configure and manage complex datacom equipment, including routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls.
• Monitor and improve network security through the management of intrusion detection and antimalware systems.
• Maintain a segmented hybrid network environment, covering both wired and wireless infrastructure.
• Manage data center operations focusing on virtualization, storage, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Provide strategic advice on cloud and XaaS systems while designing sustainable ICT architecture solutions.
• Solve complex technical incidents and optimize ITIL processes, specifically problem and change management.

• You have 8+ years of experience in system engineering and infrastructure management.
• You possess 5+ years of experience with TCP/IP, BGP, VLANs, and Routing/Switching.
• You bring 5+ years of experience in Firewalls and network security monitoring.
• You have 5+ years of experience with VMware and data center virtualization technologies.
• You possess 5+ years of experience in SAN/NAS storage management and backup solutions.
• You bring 3+ years of experience in advisory for Cloud and XaaS systems.
• You have 3+ years of experience in conceptual design for ICT Architecture.
• You possess knowledge of ITIL processes, including problem and change management.
• You are native in Dutch with professional working proficiency in English.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Azure.
• Knowledge of MS SQL Server.
• Experience with VoIP, SIP, and PoE.
