Java Developer – Energy Data Management & Middleware

Our client, a prominent player in the energy sector, is seeking a developer to support and evolve applications within their data management landscape. This role focuses on translating functional requirements into technical solutions while ensuring the stability of core market processes.

• Convert functional analyses and user stories into technical designs and high-quality code.
• Develop and maintain Java-based software solutions for internal market-related applications.
• Perform system maintenance, bug fixing, and provide specialized user support for data management platforms.
• Manage and optimize middleware components within server environments.
• Take ownership of assigned projects and proactively communicate technical risks or issues.
• Collaborate with analysts and designers to share insights and improve development workflows.

• 5+ years backend development experience with Java EE.
• 5+ years experience working with the JBoss middleware stack, including EAP and Fuse.
• 5+ years experience in JBoss administration within RedHat Linux environments.
• 5+ years experience with frontend development using HTML, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• 5+ years experience managing source code and builds with Git and Maven.
• Demonstrable knowledge of MIG6 energy market processes.
• Proactive and solution-oriented communication skills.
• You are fluent in Dutch with a C2 level.

Nice to Haves

• 3+ years experience within the Belgian energy sector.
• Experience with Hibernate, Spring MVC, and JSP.
• Knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle or SQL.
• Familiarity with Unit Testing and Agile development methodologies.
