Expert Platform Engineer – Cloud & Kubernetes Operations

Our client, a leading European transmission system operator, is committed to building a sustainable and green energy infrastructure for the future. The organization is looking for an expert to take ownership of the reliability, security, and stable operation of a high-availability cloud platform.

• Manage the full lifecycle and day-2 operations of multi-cluster Kubernetes environments to ensure 24/7 platform availability.
• Lead incident triage, mitigation, and root cause analysis (RCA) for critical services within a production on-call rotation.
• Optimize platform observability using open-source tools to manage metrics, logs, and distributed traces.
• Execute complex platform changes and maintenance tasks using structured change management and GitOps workflows.
• Implement and maintain platform security controls, including RBAC, network boundaries, and secret management.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks and standardize procedures through a Platform-as-Code approach.

• You have 8+ years of production experience with Kubernetes, multi-cluster architecture, RBAC, Network Policies, and CSI.
• You bring 5+ years of experience with GitOps and continuous delivery using ArgoCD, Harness.io, Helm, and Kustomize.
• You possess 5+ years of experience in container and artifact management with Docker, Harbor, and JFrog Artifactory.
• You have experience with security and identity tools, specifically HashiCorp Vault for secret management and TLS certificate lifecycles.
• You're proficient with observability stacks including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, and Grafana.
• You have a strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, reverse proxies, and mTLS.
• You bring experience in infrastructure automation using advanced Bash scripting.
• You're a structured, risk-aware, and detail-oriented professional capable of troubleshooting distributed systems under pressure.
• You are fluent in English.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Kong API Gateway for traffic management and authentication.
• Operational knowledge of Redis, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB deployment patterns on Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Kargo for advanced release orchestration.
