DevOps Engineer – AWS & Python

Our client, a leading organization in the public sector, is seeking a DevOps Engineer to manage and operate cloud workloads within a central hosting platform. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability and scalability of digital services through advanced platform engineering, automated deployment processes, and the optimization of hub-spoke architectures.

• Develop, manage, and operate a central cloud hosting platform using a hub-spoke architecture.
• Optimize and evolve Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate environment provisioning.
• Automate release processes and CI/CD pipelines to streamline application delivery across environments.
• Monitor the health and performance of infrastructure and applications to guarantee high availability.
• Implement and configure security services including identity management, access policies, and compliance controls.
• Design and execute system failure and recovery plans to ensure platform reliability and business continuity.
• Collaborate with project teams to support the onboarding of new services and technical components.

• 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
• 3+ years of development experience with Python.
• 3+ years of experience working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• 3+ years of experience automating CI/CD processes using tools such as GitHub or Azure DevOps Pipelines.
• You have experience setting up and maintaining central hosting platforms within a hub-spoke architecture.
• You possess a proactive and solution-oriented mindset suitable for an Agile and DevOps culture.
• You are fluent in Dutch at a C2 level.

Nice to Haves

• 3+ years of experience with AWS CLI.
• 3+ years of experience with Control Tower, SCP, Security Hub, GuardDuty, and IAM.
• 1+ years of experience managing container orchestration systems such as ECS Fargate, Kubernetes, or Docker.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MSSQL, or MongoDB administration.
• Experience with information classification frameworks and security standards.
