FAQs

How is this different from a QC Analyst?

You do the same routine testing, plus the lab support around it. Calibrating and validating equipment and methods is part of your job, so you check that the machines you test with work correctly themselves.

Do I need pharmaceutical experience?

No. The lab techniques matter more than the sector. Many consultants come from another industry and learn the GMP context on the job, unless a vacancy lists pharmaceutical experience as a must.

Which degree do I need?

A bachelor in biology, chemistry or laboratory technology. An A2 with lab experience also qualifies.

Is this shift work?

It depends on the role. Around 40 percent of positions run in shifts, early or late, never nights. The rest is day work.

Can I work from home?

No. Lab work happens on site, at the client.
