Not necessarily. Bio, industrial or civil engineer all fit, and biomedical, biotech or pharma backgrounds are welcome too. What really counts is how you think.
It is possible, but your profile needs to stand out. Most roles ask for a master's and ideally one to two years of experience. For graduates, strong soft skills and things like taking the lead in a student club or the scouts can make the difference.
